The rose and the bow

 

 

Once upon a time, many, many years ago, Europe, the Goddess of the Moon, always looked at human beings  from the sky. One day she noticed that something in the world was missing and she saw that human life could be better.

She thought she could give a good example and she got down on the world as a girl dressed in blue, wearing a blue crown with a symbol

that included twelve golden stars in a circle.

She decided that she would  give a name to every good action done by her on earth and she would also let a rose grow. When she arrived on the world

she freed all the prisoners who had been unjustly punished; she called this action “Freedom” and a light blue rose was born.

Europe helped a farmer in his job and for a day she felt the tiredness  he felt; she called  this action  “Solidarity” and a red rose was born.

She gave people the power and called this action “Democracy”. On this day

a green rose was born. She made it possible for everyone to have the same

Rights and this was called “Equality”; at this moment a bright pink rose was born.

She made a present to human beings, patience and she called the capacity of using this with other people “Tolerance”, creating in this way a yellow rose and with peace a white rose was born. When she went back to the sky, she asked to the stars to shape a special bow for her, that could reach men's soul.While she waited, she understood that there was something left to be done and she created “Rule of law” and “Human dignity and Human rights” and  another two roses were born: a blue one and a pink one. In the meantime, the goddess melted all the roses in a rose that had 8 petals, one of each colour. When the bow and the rose were finished, Europe threw  the rose towards the world. The rose divided itself in lots of little roses that touched the soul of  people who gave the name “Europa” to the zone which was the nearest to the place where the arrow fell down, in honour of the Goddess.

 

La rosa e l'arco

 

Molti, molti anni fa, Europa, la Dea della luna, guardava sempre gli esseri umani dal cielo e vide che mancava qualcosa nella vita degli uomini e che la loro esistenza poteva essere migliorata!

Pensò di cominciare dando il buon esempio e scese sulla terra con le sembianze di una ragazza vestita di blu che portava una corona celeste con 12 stelle in cerchio.

Decise che ad ogni azione che voleva aggiungere alla vita degli uomini, avrebbe dato un nome e avrebbe anche fatto nascere una rosa. Scesa sulla terra liberò tutti i prigionieri puniti ingiustamente. Chiamò questo “Libertà” e nacque un rosa rossa. Aiutò per un giorno un contadino nel suo lavoro provando con lui la fatica. Chiamò questo solidarietà e nacque una rosa celeste.

Lei conferì agli uomini il potere chiamando questo “Democrazia”. In questo caso nacque una rosa verde. Diede a tutti gli stessi diritti chiamando questo “Uguaglianza” fece nascere una rosa fucsia.

Fece un regalo a tutti gli uomini, la pazienza e chiamò la capacità di usarla con il prossimo “Tolleranza”. In quel momento nacque una rosa gialla e la Pace ne generò una bianca. Tornata in cielo chiese alle stelle di forgiare per lei un arco capace di toccare l'anima degli uomini. Mentre aspettava lei capì che mancava ancora qualcosa e creò lo “Stato di diritto” e la “Dignità e i Diritti Umani” creando altre due rose, una blu e una rosa.

Nel frattempo la dea fuse tutte le rose in una rosa con 8 petali, ognuno di un colore diverso. Quando l'arco e la rosa furono pronti, la dea Europa tirò la rosa verso la terra. La rosa si divise in molte altre rose più piccole che colpirono l'anima degli uomini. E fu così che essi chiamarono “Europa” la zona adiacente al punto dove era caduta la freccia, proprio in onore della Dea.
